I had a big enough twighlight zone moment this morning that I felt must be shared on defendingHim...
1. Go to www.google.com today and click on the logo. You will see that Google puts the words "missing link found" into the search query (problem #1)
2. Go to http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/missing%20link and review the definition of "missing link"
- 1: an absent member needed to complete a series or resolve a problem
- 2 a: a hypothetical intermediate evolutionary form between humans and their presumed simian progenitors
- 2 b: a hypothetical intermediate evolutionary form between one animal species or group and its presumed ancestors <a missing link between reptiles and birds>
Anyone dabbling in the creation/evolution debate knows that these topics are centered around Definition 2a shown above.
3. Carefully read the various articles on Darwinius masillae ("Ida") and how she is THE "missing link"
4. Have a look at the photo below to see where Ida supposedly "fits" into the evolutionary stages that link her to modern humans:

With the arrival of Darwinius masillae prior to apes, she is no missing link between apes or even ape-like creatures and human beings. This is a prime example, or perhaps the worst example yet, of the media controlling science and manipulating the less informed general population. For those who are less interested and merely understand the world according to headlines, these articles (and upcoming films, etc.) will certainly raise some unnecessary doubts for Christians. For the record, this fossil does not provide the missing link between apes or even ape-like creatures and human beings and thus in no way proves macroevolution. As the related article #2 below states: "Nothing about this fossil suggests it is anything other than an extinct, lemur-like creature."
